No, I'm Not a Human is an upcoming first-person survival horror game developed and to be published by Trioskaz. The game revolves around the exploding sun and 'guests' who crawl out from underground with unclear intentions.

The demo was first published in the Violent Horror Stories: anthology on Steam on August 7, 2024. The game is scheduled for release in April 2025, and the extended demo version will be available for download during the next Steam Fest.

Gameplay[]

The player must distinguish people from "visitors" pretending to be humans, providing shelter to the former and eliminating the latter. At night, the player chooses guests to let in and can check the window to observe the surroundings. The signs of how to tell a visitor are disclosed to the player at the start of each day. They include:

  • Perfectly white teeth
  • Dirty fingernails
  • Bloodshot eyes
  • Blurred photos

They are checked in a dialog during the daytime. After detecting the correlating sign, the game automatically points a gun at the guest; next, the player can choose what to do with the said person. The growl is heard from the room the visitor stays in, making the identification process easier. The game has an energy bar showing how many actions the protagonist can take, whether discussing the world or checking the signs in guests. The player can empty the bar by drinking beer from the fridge; furthermore, the main character can't fall asleep until the bar is empty.

If the visitors are not eliminated, they kill human guests. Furthermore, FEMA takes guests from the house once in a few days. If the player doesn't let anyone in, it leads to the game over after the visit from the Intruder. Saying you're alone at home despite taking guests also leads to the game over.

Characters[]

None of the characters have an official name due to the author's creative decision. All the titles are conjectural and based on the subject's characteristics. There are only 12 guests in the demo, including humans and visitors, but the amount will be closer to 54 (including a pair of twins) in the release. The release will include randomization, meaning roles and visitor signs are distributed randomly between the characters. It will be impossible to get all the characters in one gameplay. For now, the guests that appear at night include:

  • Little Girl
  • Bar Guy
  • Widowed Woman
  • Sun Guy
  • Surgeon
  • Middle-aged Woman
  • Suit Guy
  • Coat Guy
  • Cashier Girl
  • Amogus Guy
  • Bearded Guy

The game includes other characters, such as Reporter, Egghead Guy, Protagonist, Neighbour, FEMA Workers, and Intruder, the latter of whom is the main antagonist. The ghost of an old woman in the living room was planned to be another guest; however, she was cut out and only left as an easter egg due to the deadline. She will appear as a character in the release.

Endings[]

There are five endings, not including game over:

  • Ending 1: if the homeowner eliminates every visitor he took in, he barricades in the house with the remaining guests.
  • Ending 2: if the homeowner kills too many people, he will be exiled from the house to the scorching sun.
  • Ending 3: if the homeowner fails to eliminate visitors, he will be killed by them.
  • Ending 4: if the homeowner takes in no visitors, he and the guests will be relieved they haven't spilled any blood.
  • Ending 5: if the homeowner finishes the game too soon, it will be acknowledged it in an additional line.
  • Game Over: if the homeowner tells The Intruder that they're alone, then the visitor will take the player somewhere and no one will know what happened to them.

Trivia[]

  • There will be a 3D cat following the player around in the release.
  • While NINaH takes place in post-soviet realms and is made by Russian developers, there is no exact location of the game events.
  • Military behind the window during the night results from miscommunication between the artist and the scriptwriters. Originally, it was supposed to be FEMA.
  • The developers aren't sure whether to give the player the opportunity to kill Little Girl.
    • In the demo, she is the only character that can't be shot or killed by a guest.
  • Datamined files show it will be possible to check a guest's pubic hair on the sixth day to see if they are a visitor.
    • Unlike regular humans, visitors don't have vegetation.
  • In the game itself with a little chance, you can meet a ghost of a grandmother in the living room sitting on an armchair. How can you find out from the game files, it is a cut out a guest
